Cardiology fellowship in Saudi Arabia: accredited centers
How to read Saudi Arabian cardiology training listings, which are often based on national accreditation records rather than individual recruitment notices.
Accreditation records are not vacancies
The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties publishes, for each subspecialty, the programme curriculum, the examinations and the accredited training centers in cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. Several profiles here come from those pages. They show that a centre is accredited for a subspecialty; they do not state that a position is open this year.
Find the recruiting contact
For a centre listed on the accreditation page, look for that hospital’s own training or postgraduate medical education office. Ask whether it recruits for the subspecialty, which year it is recruiting for, how applicants are selected and whether non-Saudi graduates are considered.
Registration and classification
Practising or training in the Kingdom involves registration with the regulator. The requirements depend on your qualifications and nationality, and the commission’s own services pages describe them. Check them before you accept an offer and ask the hospital who sponsors the process.
Compare centers on what they state
Use the same fields for every shortlisted centre: subspecialty, clinical scope, number of positions, funding, language, and visa and sponsorship arrangements. A blank field in the directory is unknown, not a refusal, so ask the programme.
Keep expectations clear
Treat a listing as a starting point for a conversation. Confirm in writing that the training will be recognised where you plan to work afterwards.
